some software can work by command-line,but it can't work by gnome-gui.
ex:gnumeric,stardict,firefox~~
need to be helped

Not 100 percent sure what your question is.  Are you saying, you're having troubles with applications that require X11 to run (like firefix)?  Are you able to launch X alright? please send more details

no clue equals no idea in this case.

Maybe it has something to do with scim, maybe you set something in your .bashrc (path environement variable) or something that is not taken into account when you start from the menu?

you can see how they are called in /usr/share/applications/firefox.desktop gnumeric.desktop etc...
