Inputhelper
« on: April 02, 2005, 01:57:46 pm »
I got my USB host cable delivered today (along with some other accessories), and so I tried out Inputhelper for mouse use.   Everything works great, but...

The unit will not suspend anymore.  It reboots whenever I close and reopen the lid.  I've tried uninstalling inputhelper, but it still reboots intead of suspending.

Any ideas?  Help is greatly appreciated.

All inputhelper installs are some libraries in /opt/QtPalmtop/plugins/applets...

libinputhelperapplet.so
libinputhelperapplet.so.1
libinputhelperapplet.so.1.0
libinputhelperapplet.so.1.0.0

and a few sockets under...

/var/spool/inputhelper

called key, mouse, qcop

I think if you make sure all that is gone then the problem lies somewhere else.

I have found it pretty stable myself.

OpenBSD 4.2 -current on full 4Gb of SL-C3000
Microdrive replaced with 4Gb SanDisk Extreme III card

Well, truthfully, I don't want to get rid of anything.  It's stable for me too, other than the fact that closing/reopening the lid reboots to c3000 (takes about a minute and some change, and always asks for date/time confirmation).  Nothing else has been added, other than the inputhelper_1.0.0-1 ipk.

*EDIT*

Actually, let me amend this.  It's not a reboot.  Just looks like a QTopia restart.  Still asks for date/time confirmation, though.

OK, I got it.  It was a munged  inputhelper.conf file.  I removed it, then did a reinstall, and now all is well.  Suspends properly with or without a mouse or keyboard attached.

Yep, on a Qtopia restart it asks for date and time.

So, what else did you add recently ?
OpenBSD 4.2 -current on full 4Gb of SL-C3000
Microdrive replaced with 4Gb SanDisk Extreme III card
