World power supply
« on: August 22, 2004, 01:00:47 am »
G'day,

I'm travelling around Australia with a Zaurus C760. I have a FPS-101E1 World Voltage AC adapter that I got from Dynamism and it was working ok until 2 days ago, has since died!
Does anyone know of anywhere in the Sydney area where I could purchase something similar, I'm going to be passing through in about a weeks time.

Thanks.

I don't live in Sydney but Dick Smith Electronics sell this switch-mode power supply that works perfectly with the C760:

http://www.dse.com.au/cgi-bin/dse.storefro...n/product/M9916

It supports an input voltage of 90-260V and you can select the correct output required by the Zaurus (5V DC @ 1A).  It even comes with the correct size DC plug (just make sure you get the polarity correct - postive center).

Check that page for store locations and stock availability.

I also know that Jaycar sell a good 5V 2A switch-mode supply, but it probably doesn't have the correct size DC plug.  Jaycar do sell the correct size plugs though but you'd have to solder one on yourself.
