Well, it was hanging often but it would come back after flipping the battery switch and rebooting, but now when rebooting it goes to the splash screen and then keeps showing an error message: "unable to open database /root/.gpe/categories" and the message keeps flashing on and off on the screen. I guess is back to the Sharp ROM again...

went looking for problem, and noticed that there was no .gpe directory in the root folder.  So I added one, and the OS automatically added the categories file.

Hey Guys,
i am testing the image now. It is now much more mature than the last time I tried. I have configured autologin as root, but I am always getting the error:
Code: [Select]
unable to open database: /root/.gpe/categoriesAnyone a hint?
I get this error for example, when I try to start the calendar. Calendar does not start. Just the contacts can be launched, while I get that error there too. I did an ipkg update and ipkg upgrade, which upgraded from the upgrade feed. The upgrade went on smooth.
Cheers,
Sam

When looking around as to the why of this, I noticed that there wasn't a .gpe directory in the root folder.  When I make one (mkdir) - note not visible after made but you can cd to it - the OS put in the categories file.  After that everything starts and runs!
