Certainly not a Linux-Phone, but...Great stuff!!! The battery life is goin to stink though.Still, Series 60 is ok.

Now that is a worthy upgrade for my Nokia 3650! And, with the 4gb USB Mass storage along with Wi-Fi and BT, it is definitely a worthy companion for a Z, too.

Wow, a phone with 4GB memory space ... NICE.

I think for those of us without a C3000, this phone is a good complement to the Z, you get the 4GB alongwith a phone, plus music player and easy connectivity to the Zaurus (via the USB port). would love to see the phone mount up on the Zaurus

And with WiFi built in - oh even more so - use the Zaurus to browse on while connecting thru the phone itself - no more WiFi CF cards, IRDA connections to a phone, or Aircables to get BT connectivity etc etc.

   If only the price was a bit saner.

Well, but the lack of a big screen, better resolution and a touch screen can't make it a serious Zaurus-Replacement.Now, for a (Windows, Palm) PDA replacement, if you don't really need the bigger screen, it works well.I just found my mother's Palm V, hidden deep, and I'm tottaly hooked.I used Gnome-Pilot to transfer a couple of Infocom Text Adventures, and now I'm happily exploring the world of Planetfall and A Mind Forever Voyaging.Thank you very much.I couldn't do that on my Ngage's TINY screen.So, for serious work, just get a Zaurus, else, this could be a viable solution.Be carefull though, you probably won't buy a phone for next 5 years with this, and frankly, others will come.It's quite early.We'll see breakthroughs and lower prices.So keep your clothes on.

NOTE: I only said those things because I haven't the money to buy it, and I want you to suffer as well.

well actually I couldnt dream of anything replacing my Zaurus with that screen size - but  I see the phone as more of a companion tool with the Zaurus (i hate a phone-handheld combo) - so different devices which rather integrate well or at least provide features which the other device can use and run off is best for me.

Thats where I see the zaurus working with this phone - to ride off the WiFi/GPRS capabilities and use the 4GB space to share between the zaurus and the phone.

Yeah, but I must be insane to think of a $600+ phone.

I recall that NEC released a really tiny mobile phone which didn't have a speaker, microphone and practically no buttons or display. It was designed to use a bluetooth headset, and voice dialling. It'd be the perfect companion to a 3000... .why duplicate stuff?

If the PCMCIA cell cards which do voice and data didn't suck power so fast, I'd use one of those.

I once had a handspring visor with the phone module, the phone had its own battery to not kill the visor; it was quite good, if a bit chunky. You can see it resurrected in the Treo.

Because not only does it make a lousy phone (I *have* to use a seperate headset), you're still going to be carrying 2 devices. If you're going to carry 2 devices, you might as well carry the two that add a significant set of capabilities (an extra 4gb of space, Wi-Fi, BT, and GPRS) versus just GPRS. You aren't actually duplicating stuff. More storage space is always good, and with the BT and Wi-Fi in the phone, you theoretically don't have to use Wi-fi or BT cf cards in the Z.
