Hello everyone,

I have come near to a decision of selling my zaurus, and I would like to hear some advices on the pricing.

SL-C860
Little bit over 1 year used
Few scratches
WCF12 Wifi Linksys Card
PDAir Case

The battery has a bit of a problem, I'm thinking it's a bit used up.

I still have the box, etc. but I think it's out of warranty now.

I would prefer selling in Canada but I guess that's a low chance

I'm thinking about... $350 ~ $400US? I'm thinking it's a bit high, but since I have the PDAir case and the Wifi card... and I need the money too.

Where in Canada are you?

What's the problem with the battery, and what's the condition of the screen? I'm in Edmonton, and may know a few interested parties.

I'm in B.C.

It might be a problem with the ROM and the battery thing or something but the zaurus doesn't turn on every time unless I plug the cord in for like 10 min.

The screen has no scratches, it's covered with an Overlay Brilliant thingy, and I have never changed the cover... I dunno if thats good for it... but I'm thinking it's fine under the cover.

That sounds a little odd. What ROM is on it? Have you tried resetting it to factory defaults recently?

What charge does the battery meter show? If you plug it in for that 10 minutes, turn it on, then un-plug it, what happens?

I found out that when it doesn't turn on, I plug in the power cord and wait a few minutes, and then it reboots. Should I switch back to the Sharp Rom and test also?

Well, you haven't mentioned what ROM you're using. However, with a problem like this I'd definitely recommend reloading the Sharp ROM and see if that fixes it.

I know this is a stupid question and I should go find it myself, but does anyone know where I can download the Sharp Rom for SL-C860? I tried looking in a few places but I don't think my brain is working at the moment since it's late here.

I think this:
http://support.ezaurus.com/sl-c860/update/...date_860140.exe
is what you're looking for.

Keep in mind that this is a rom flash and not a NAND restore. You'll have to undo any partition resizing you may have done when installing Cacko.

Edit:

Trisoft has 860 Nand backups for both 1.11 and 1.4:

I'm having a pretty difficult time... when I just try to flash the ROM to the original one, it finishes downloading but when it reboots it stays on the "wait a moment" screen.

I am also trying to NAND flash but it's not working well, and when I try to format my CF, there is no option to format it to FAT16, only FAT or FAT32. (A 256MB Card). When I unzip the files on my CF that isnt FAT16 formatted, the file named like [C860-2004-01-19-12-48.zip ] would unzip to be the same file just without the .zip etc. I don't see the SYSTC860.DBK file anywhere...
