meanie put up some fantastic files.

The only problem i have is mounting and unmounting after a restart and umount and mount the sd card when ever i want to eject the thing and...well you know.  It mounts itself stuck to the unit.

Ill probably make some icons for ease of use especially for the newbies and or ill put up some commands so the newbies can easily be able to mount the stuff after an install.

other than that, it works great. man meanie.....you gaved the flexibility the c1000 users needed.

I had to reinstall the whole thing since my system was basterdized from previous x environments.  I recommend people to reinstall if they expirience problems.

yeah go ahead.  Im still modifying it since it makes kinda no sense.  I had to put this up cuz i was a bit frustrated with the mounting and unmounting since i always eject the darn card to upload pictures from my sd camera which is the mustek or audio files from recorded lecture or even videos which i record on the go.

well i had to take down the commands because there was a bit of a problem

ohh darn..

i forgot to ask..if when meanie is going to release the crams for openoffice and debian?

and abiword still does not work. missing libgthread-2.0.so.0

filemanager is a little funky

gnumeric needs libgthread-2.0.so.0

mounting and unmounting is done in the terminal.  my sudo only allowed 2 loops in fat and when i went to ext and reinstalled, still said only 2 available.  i may need to reinstall but ill let you guys know later what goes on.

at this moment, I would preffer a crams file that includes all of them including debian and office.  Releave the problems of doing mounting unmounting and loop0 problems.

The Z by default only has 2 loop devices. The script in my automounter package creates additional loop devices which allows you to have up to 7 loop devices.

I have created a xqtmega.cramfs bundle which contains all four cramfs images in one big cramfs image (98MB). However, I am having problems uploading it due to bandwidth restrictions on my site

There is a also a xqt-cleanup script which takes a brute force approach to cleaning up left over xqt files. If the xqt-install.sh doesnt work because of previous xqt components being installed, try the xqt-cleanup first before reflashing. it may save you some time

As for auto mounting and unmounting the cramfs files from SD or CF on insert and remove, you can modify /etc/sdcontrol or /etc/pcmcia/ide and add the appropriate mount and unmount commands to the appropriate eject and insert section

eg:

Code: [Select]
insert)
    sdctrl insert $SOCKET
    if [ -f /mnt/card/xtq/xqt-gtk-jumbo.cramfs ]; then
        mount -o loop /mnt/card/xqt/xqt-gtk-jumbo.cramfs /home/xqt-gtk-jumbo
    fi
;;

eject)
    if [ `mount|grep loop|grep xqt-gtk-jumbo` != "" ]; then
        umount /home/xqt-gtk-jumbo
    fi
   ....

The above is just a simple illustration. of course you need to mount each of the cramfs images you have and unmount them as well. I might write a script that you can call from within sdcontrol to simplify things...

Have a look at http://www.users.on.net/~hluc/myZaurus/jumbo/xqtjumbo.html for more info about XQT jumbo

cresho,

sudo and ext2 have nothing to do with the loop device being unavailable. you just ran out of them since there are only 2 by default. my mntloop script which comes with my automounter package creates additional loop devices on reboots. they need to be recreated each time.

also my latest automounter package (0.4.3) now is enhanced to automatically mount and unmount any loop devices that are defined in /etc/fstab for SD and CF cards. So whenever you insert a SD card for example, it will mount all the loop devices defined for the SD card if the file exists, and unmount it if you eject the card.

as a bonus feature, it will also enable a swapfile if one exists on the sd card (needs to be called swapfile and located in the root directory, ie /mnt/card/swapfile) and also disables it when the SD is ejected. The same also happens for CF cards (/mnt/cf/swapfile).

my mntloop script assumes that cramfs files have a .cramfs extension, an ext2 formatted loopback file has a .ext2 extension, etc. It recognises .cramfs, .squashfs, .ext2 and .ext3 extensions. to disable a mount point from automatically being mounted, you can comment out its definition by placing a hash (#) at the beginning of the line in /etc/fstab.

mount points defined in /etc/fstab are mounted after each reboot automatically which would fail with the default Sharp config if you had more than 2 loop devices defined. the mntloop script creates additional loop devices and then mounts all the loop devices that failed previously, but it will check and not mount them twice if they are already mounted.

i also modified /etc/sdcard/sd_mem_ctrl and /etc/pcmcia/ide which controls the insert and ejection of SD and CF card respectively to call mntloop.

Meanie!

I gaved it a shot.  It works fine.  I put all the cram files in  an sd, installed sudo, and your auto mounter ipk.

then i ran install.sh

i can now eject the sd card and insert it..

just like you said.  it automounts and unmounts.  Everything works fine.  everything runs on a fat partition just fine.

the only thing i had to do was to start from scratch because i was using a certain xqt feed which basterdized all processes.  Nothing would work.  even your xqt cleaner did not clean the files.  This was do from my installers.  Yours are all fine.

now the only thing need to fix are certain applications-very few.

just for my notes and newbies

files needed to make it run
automounter-c3000_0.4.3_arm.ipk
sudo_1.6.3p7-2_arm.ipk

and download crams from here courtisy from bam
http://www.thegrinder.ws/Meanies_XQT/

extract all files in a folder in sd and run xqt-install.sh "./xqt-install.sh"

and instructions to run the x environment
-----------------------------------------------
how to use....
ckick on the tab and hit start x....it starts 8)
the menu button on the z keyboard you can shutdown here and also go full screen.
now hit the fn key and click the the screen(don't click on the terminal)...you just excecuted right click.  regular taps is left click.  this opens up new menus and you can change the look here as well or configure environment.  to add or remove executables within x environment you need to configure Blackbox menus /opt/QtPalmtop/share/blackbox/menu
------------------------------------------------

ill post up one or 2 applications that seem to be acting funny with me.

Cresho - you mention using the sudo package, and meanies site says not to use the sudo package on Cacko - what do us Cacko ROM users do, is sudo not necessary with the Cacko ROM?
