[newbie] Problemes With Ipkg Install
« on: June 07, 2005, 05:03:50 am »
h
i just have my zaurus for few weeks and manage to install the pdaxrom.
nice.
i've installed and then uninstall gimp.

But now i want to install it (i know i'm very unstable ...)
i have a error
via  xterm
withe the ipkg -d install command it tells me it needs to download a __.ipkg from paxrom repository and it obviously fails .

I tried with another install/uninstall/new install packages  same error .

thanks

PS: how to change some desktop icones ?

First, use qpkg (System Tools -> Package manager) if you are not familiar with the ipkg tools.
Then check whether you have the correct feed in the Settings tab.

SL-Cxx0: http://212.10.30.205/rc10/Zaurus-7x0-860/feed/
SL-C1000: http://212.10.30.205/rc10/Zaurus-C1000/feed/
SL6000: http://212.10.30.205/rc10/Zaurus-SL6000/feed/
Click on the update button in the top row (the middle one), after you add the feed.

Third, check whether your internet connection is working.

Note that if you try to install stuff on FAT formated SD/CF card, it will fail. You have to use ext3 formated cards, for example.

About the PS:
Desktop Icon descriptions are in /usr/share/applications/ directory.
