Where Can I Find C1000 Software?
« on: June 08, 2005, 09:25:28 pm »
I have had a C1000 for a few weeks, but I am having a very hard time finding compatable software for it. It seems most of it was written for some other third party or or some other PDA. A lot of it partially worked, or did not work at all.
Is there any site that has software that is known to work on a stock C1000?
Thanks for all replys, sorry for the dumb question.

What software do you want?

Most of the stuff from ELSI (www.elsix.org) worked for me with my C1K. The stuff that didn't generally needed some other package installed first.

Stuff that I know works

Portabase
Ko/Pi
Kino2 + mplayer
X/Qt
Opie Reader
tkcPlayer
iqnotes
openssh
gnupg
nano

Stu,

Did you by any chance find a iqnotes 2.0.x for the stock sharp roms that isn't the japanese version? Or you're talking of the 1.x version of iqnotes that is on ELSI?

I have iqnotes 2.0.2 that I compiled myself - the source is available from [a href=\"http://www.uid0.sk/~kybu/kybu.sk/iqnotes/?page=download]http://www.uid0.sk/~kybu/kybu.sk/iqnotes/?page=download[/url]

There is still a bug with saving utf8 files (at least those containing double-byte characters) in this version - saves okay if you encrypt the files, but give mojibake otherwise (which is why you see all those Japanese version kicking around). The version of the source for iqnotes-desktop beta that kybu released fixed this problem according to the release notes, but doesn't compile for the zaurus

I probably should spend some time and try to back port the saving changes to the 2.0.2 source, but basically I'm too lazy.
