Hey, thanks!   I \"cough, cough\" lost mine.  Yeah.  Like I ever got anything but a Japanese one which was totally useless (since I can\'t read Japanese).

yeah because of this cute little stunt, my server got hit with over 14GB data transfer and the the throughput peaked at 10MB.  The server and colo didn\'t actually go down or suffer, we just had to disable the account due to the potential overage costs....

cacko.zaurususergroup.com is now re-directing back to cacko.biz until I can speak with Laze and/or Sash.

I just found out about this project from a user that was trying it out and needed help.  I have to admit that it does look to be a good one (I am downloading the ROM as I type).  Since it already has a SDL port, many of the SDL lib apps for Qtopia should also work (i.e. MaxMame, MaxMess).  Has anyone tested this?  If they do not work, I will port them over.  As well, my newer projects should also work well on it.

Again, I am downloading now and have not tried it.  I have been working on some Jap<->Eng WinCE devices and haven\'t been following the Zaurii too much.

Sorry bout that offroadgeek, it wasn\'t meant to be just some cute little stunt, i was just wanting to show people what we were working on here. I figured it would be something of interest to the tech world. sorry, i didn\'t really think of the consequences to the server.

omin0us - it\'s not a huge issue... maybe I was being a little harsh...  I just think some people don\'t truely understand the costly effect of a slashdotting.  The server wasn\'t impacted, nor was the ZUG site (same server), the cacko.zug site was disabled simply because of the potential extra cost I would have to pay.

Overall, I think we\'re fortunate now to be on a server that can take a licking like that.

Nope, i don\'t think the only thing that has been tried is Mame, but not very succesfull - i\'m looking forward to MaxMess, MaxMame and maybe also the UAE emulator?

Laze,

I am installing it right now and will get them to work on the unit as soon as everything is running ok.  It took FOREVER to download.  I wish I knew about this before the /. effect.  ;-)

Well, can\'t get my wifi (Netgear MA-701) card to work in it.  I don\'t have too much time to work on it tonight.  It finds it and everything looks good.  No idea what is happening.  I will look into it maybe before bed.  prism_cs and p80211 are loaded also by hotplug.  Light turns on for only a second.

Maybe tomorrow I will have it connected.

I\'ve only just seen this, and it makes me mad!

The posters on /. have completely missed the point here.

Nobody has said you need to run x.11 with all the bells and whistles it offers.

It has just been stated that (if you want to) you can run this on (what most people class) a pda!  You don\'t have to, you certainly don\'t need to, but if you want to you can!!!!!!

It is an addition, not a law/rule of ownership!

how many other so called pda\'s offer even half what the zaurus can do?

This is an addition, not the reason for it\'s existance.

I have posted a few replies stating this, but as I have come into this late, due to a business trip, and it seems that anonymous coward replies always get sent to the bottom, nobody is likely to read this remark.

PS, Lordavon, Welcome back, I hope you stick around.
I had a bit of bother  with my wifi card on x.11. I  resolved this by copying the relevant bits from my sharp /etc/pcmcia/wlan-ng.opts file.

I am not saying the app on x.11 doesn\'t work. I just found it easier to enter the info manually as that is what I am used to.

Here\'s an idea, lets pool together a little cash and help offroadgeek with some of the related cost for the bw.
Least we can do since he ask\'s for little more than participation here.  I\'ll put up the first $10.00.
