Zaurus.com site changes
« on: January 28, 2004, 11:58:01 am »
Seem like the  zaurus.com  forums have been taken down and the site shows some changes. No, no, no 6000 announcements or pictures yet, but still seems to be different.

The developers Zaurus devnet seems to show \"under construction\" .

Now, how long again is this down-time for ?

\"whatcu talkin \'bout Willis?\"

I don\'t see any changes to the zaurus.com/dev site, and I\'m also able to get to the devnet forums (zaurus.com/dev/board/) without any issues....

I aint gettin dem dam site anymore.

When I type in www.zaurus.com/dev/board (thats the forum right), I get taken to http://www.sharpusa.com/zaurus/ directly.

Now, (a few pinches and a light box to my ear later), I still dont get the forum site  at all.
If I click on the developes link, this is where I am redirected
http://www.sharpusa.com/zaurus/dev/0,2354,,00.html

It is just me ?

Nope, it is not just you.  The website says, \"This section is currently under construction.  Please check back soon.\"

Something is happening.

Yep, you\'ve definitely gone mad...

I just cleared my cache, and even tried it in a different browser (boy the devnet board is ugly in netscape!).  I was prompted to log in, and it took me to the board...

The symptoms seem consistent with moving the site to another server and seeing dns changes from old to new.  Could I be wrong?  I too cannot get to the forum.

What ip address do you get for www.zaurus.com using nslookup?

I get the following when typing nslookup www.zaurus.com :-

Code: [Select]
Non-authoritative answer:

Name:    www.zaurus.com

Address:  206.65.179.140

Ok, so I put your ip into my browser and still get directed to sharp usa.

What gives?  Maybe it\'s just an anti brit thing
My main connection is with ntl.

I get punted to sharp usa via my gprs connection via vodafone as well.

My freeserve gsm connection however points to the dev net boards (very slowy at 9600 baud) ip resolves to 66.180.235.229!

So why can\'t I connect from my pc using http://66.10.235.229/dev ?

The page that comes up probably redirects by name and so it takes you to what you dns tells you is zaurus.com
