well I\'m in NYC and I was still getting the old 206 IP, but now I\'m home and I\'m getting the proper 66 IP.  I wonder if my work was caching IPs and just hadn\'t caught on.

what I meant was, I wonder if they are doing an overhaul on the site maybe because of a 6000 announcement?  Are they preparing it for enteprise support?  Maybe getting rid of the developer program altogether?

everything just seems to be so up in the air with sharp since Spencer left...  big bummer...

Surely as a moderator they keep you updated with \'what\'s going on\' ??????????

actually no... back when spencer was there, he was good about communicating and bouncing things off me... but since his departure... I (and I think everyone) hasn\'t heard anything from Sharp.

besides.. I think Spencer brought on moderators to help off-load some of the maintenance/cleanup of the forums... because he was being pulled away from the devnet site (and not supposed to work on it per his mgmt).  i don\'t think it was a grand gesture from Sharp to get the developers more involved.

Hi ofrg

Shocked and amazed - I guess we can only wait and see what happens then.
From past experience it probably means that if the site does get resurrected then all previous posts will be lost yet again.

Thankfully we have this haven ;-)

You might want to put a \"http://www.killefiz.de/zaurus/\" link up - if it\'s not there already.

Thanks as always

The DevNet site admin, fusion94, tends to hang out on the #zaurus IRC channel (or at least someone using the same nick anyway and I don\'t know if he\'s still the site admin). He might know what is going on if he is available.

Looks like the changes have also percolated through to me, at least it says that the site is under construction:

It waqs Spencer personally who monitored the boards and to get some load off he assigned few of us as moderators.

He would often send PM\'s to me too to look into things, byt as offroadgeek said, it was just Spencers effort and nothing to do with Sharp.

I doubt (am sure in fact) that Sharp as a company has discounted the value of the forums totally.
And this on-again off-again attitude (vis-a-vis the forums) is really an irritating aspect. They might as well close it down if they have no commitment to it whatsoever. This way, those who rely on the board for help (I have stopped doing that since the last outage), at least are not dissapointed and at a loss totally.

I wonder what they are waiting for?  I just dropped by the old site and practically nobody is there.  Are they transferring the DB now?  Knowing my luck they\'re just waiting for me to leave.

This seems so messy.

Might be a glitch, might be some hope.  I just got 2 e-mail that I have replies to topics, but clicking the links takes me to \"under construction\".

Anyone else?

Well, the good news is that  it appears that someone at Sharp may actually be aware that the site exists, and perhaps they are updating it.

The bad news is that typicall of Sharp\'s high-handedness, they didn\'t bother to let anyone know, or post any warning of impending changes to the site.

On a related note, does anyone know if the zaurus-general mailing list is still going? I haven\'t received any mail for weeks now.

Thank heavens for this forum!

Has anyone tried to download the tkc rom via the kompany\'s website? That link appears to be buggered too.

Sharp is in the process of moving from an expensive co-location service to something more cost-effective. US management does see the value in having the developer site.
