Pdaxrom & Libc6 2.3.x ?
« on: June 26, 2005, 06:19:30 pm »
Hi all (and Laze ;-),

What about $subj ?

With libc6 2.3.x - run native (without chroot) debian programs, openzaurus feed (minimo!), etc...

thanks,

Roman

Debian doesn't use softfloat.

This makes the applications from pdaxrom and openzaurus incompatible with debian, no matter the version of libc used:

http://www.arm.linux.org.uk/mailinglists/faq.php#f4

(I think that familiar doesn't use softfloat for compatibility with debian though).

As for minimo, there is a version compiled for pdaxrom in the feed.

Hmm, but:
i'am replace /lib (2.2.5) with /lib (2.3.x - debian/testing) on running pdaxrom (rc10) and -
many debian and OE application work ok!
i think - soft load not incompatible for 100% programs...

Why pdaXrom stay on 2.2.5 ?

minimo in pdaxrom feed is too old..
IMHO duplicated work...

yes applications might work (ie if they don't use floating point via softfloat)
