X11 ports that would make the C750 a killer machine?

For me it would be:

Ethereal + Libpcap
Minicom + Libncurses (or another serial-capable terminal client)
Konsole (or similar with scroll up/dn buffer)
a TFTP server of some kind

Well that\'s enough to be getting on with. If I can get a Dev environment sorted, I may have a go at these myself.

The development environment for cross compilation is pretty good and not too hard to use. The older zgcc image for running on the machine works fine too. That said, I\'m looking forward to seeing what the new development environment is too.

Is handwriting something that is just not going to be a part of this X11 setup?

Unfortunately at the moment we are unable to release Steem\'s source, we hope
to be able to in the not too distant future.

I think I will.

in the mean time -- are there any other decent ST emulators for linux?
I just compiled STonX for sparc ...  I need to find a free tos replacement.

I compiled STonX and placed it in the feed.  You can get a free TOS replacement at http://emutos.sourceforge.net/en/index.htm

Ok.  I gave up on StonX, so I compiled Hatari.  Hatari seems to be running just fine too so I placed it in the feed.  The mouse calibration is a little off unless running in full screen.  I am looking into why.

Lord:

your stonx isn\'t complete.... your STonX dir is nor o+r, but I did a make under sparc (runs fast!) and found the filenames.
for your tar, you need Keysyms and cartridge.img (both in the top level of STonX make dir).  However, even with that,
stonx didn\'t seem to want to run... it kept locking up after the keysym load.  It\'s too bad, because it seems to have a lot
more config options than hatari.  I tried about a dozen roms and a dozen settings (all roms and settings worked on
a 500mhz sparc).  nothing working on the zaurus :-<

I tried hatari... but the pointer was always off.  it wasn\'t always off by the same amount, but 80% of the time I couldn\'t
even get the pointer to go up high enough to get to the menus... most of the time, the emulator ran so slow... for
instance, one time, it took about 15 seconds to draw the first gem desktop screen.  :-<  What and how did you
set up your hatari that allowed you to run a game?

I\'ll work some more on the other emulators, etc.

Does anyone have a copy of libreadline?

I could grab it from the OZ feed I suppose but I\'d prefer everything to be \'done right\'.

./configure\'s complaining about not being able to run test programs when cross-compiling and I haven\'t got time to edit the script at the moment.
