Hi Chero,
first off, may I congratulate you on the most excellent work you (and all the rest) have been doing getting XFCE on the Z.

I have recently got my C860 running pdaXrom and xcfe, and it looks just like my big box!

I do have one minor problem, the thunar package appears to be named incorrectly. when using the feed supplied by pgas, the built in package manager complains that xfce4-thunar does not exist. The file name is just plain ol' thunar_0.0.2_armv5tel.ipk, i.e. minus the xfce4 prefix.
if i just try to use ipkg from the command line, it complains for the same reason.

Could it be that the file name, or the package name in the control file, is incorrect?

I'll try playing with the control file first.

***EDIT***
when I download the file and change the name tpo include the "xfce4-" prefix, everything is ok.

I also have the same prolems with libexo (a dependancy for thunar) , again this is resolved by adding "xfce4-" as a prefix to the file.

In a related thing, the xfce4-iconthemes package has a similar problem, the control file states that the package is called xfce4-extra-iconthemes, once the package is renamed, all is good.

I didn't know but I solve this "problem" by making a bash file to rotate the screen and change the pinbord folder.
So I have 2 command "desktop_mode" and "pda_mode" and also 2 different desktop, One specially with application that I use in desktop mode with a 640*480 wallpaper and one another with all application that i use in pda mode with a different 480*640 wallpaper ...

I'm aware of the naming thing.

BTW : the thunar package is just a test I did. It can't be used as it is, it doesn't do anything (just viewing). I'll try to provide a new one later, when thunar has been released officially. For the time being, I use "xfe" and "mc".

Have fun,
Chero.

I'm currently running XFCE4 on my SL-C3000. Things seem to be working well, but I've been wanting to map some of the Fn keys to some functions (like the zoom in/out, brightness, volume control). The problem is that in the Xmodmap file for akita, all the lines mentioning F1-F10 are commented out. This means that to Xev, Fn+1 just produces a 1, etc. I tried uncommenting the lines to see what would happen and it appears that F1-F10 overtake the 1-0 keys so you can't type numbers. I checked in MB and it appears that to it, Xev still outputs a "1" when Fn+1 is pressed. How does the keybinding work for MB and can we use the same method in XFCE to map functions to the Fn keys?

So i think that nobody has a solution for my previous post ...
I have seen on http://xfce-goodies.berlios.de/ that it's 2 new module that can be usefull :
xfce4-modem-lights
xfce4-quicklauncher-plugin
Nobody has re-compiled them ?
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=107488\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

No, I don't know the answer to your previous post. If it's on the xfce-website you can use only 10, I don't think there's a workaround.

About the plugins :
If you like, I could add them. Just wait for a day or 10. If you can't wait, you can install the xfce4 and xfce4-dev packages from the contributed feed and try to compile the plugins.

Keep us informed.
Chero.
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=107489\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Any news about adding this package ?
xfce4-quicklauncher-plugin looks good to wait before xfce under pdaxrom support multiple toolbar ...
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=108538\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Uploaded quicklauncher and modemlights to my ipkgs (see link in my signature)
Quicklauncher seems nice with those tiny icons, didn't test modemlights.

Have fun,
Chero.

You can solve the wallpaper problem by using a square 640x640 background, and selecting "tile" mode in the backdrop window through which you're selecting the image.

Right, you can go to [a href=\"http://zaurusthemes.org/content/wallpapers/640x640/index.html]http://zaurusthemes.org/content/wallpapers...x640/index.html[/url] in order to find 640*640 wallpapers if your are lazy to make them ...

Same here... and I also notice some ghosting.  Like if you open a term window you can seee a little of the bar above the bar (when in clamshell).

I'm wondering if this has something to do with the Cxx00 models?
