Anyhow, this is certainly a move in the right direction, but:
Upon further experimentation, I've found that Windows does see Japanese filenames only if you insert a FAT CF and select the Storage Mode Setting in PC Link on the Z.
If you select PC Link as the Mode Setting even on a FAT CF, the Japanese files become invisible.
If you select Storage and insert an ext2 CF, it's not readable by Windows.
After instaling the Ext2PC software from the link, the ext2 CF becomes readable. The Japanese files aren't invisible, but they show up as garbage and the directories, whose names are in Japanese can't be accessed.
This must be now some settings thing, but how to go about it? On the Z? Something about Ext2PC, something in Windows?
