Zaurus And Head Mounted Displays?
« Reply #16 on: September 28, 2005, 05:06:31 am »
moved everything to the c3k hardware thread as it seems like the best place to put it, at the moment i am concntrating my efforts on the c3K but should be easy to port it to any pxa270 chipset, i will have a look into it but most of these hacks should also work on any other pda as well (especially the vga out)

i plan to get a website up soon with this infomation as well as other hacks and some forthcomming stuff in the pipline so expect some info soon. however i will be looking into and getting 90% of the research done on the vga out or video card depending on wether the video card is possible. i have a prototyping service for just this type of thing so expect resaults on how doable it is in the next couple of days and hardware a couple of weeks from now if its doable

i am partial to the see throgh ones (ie has support for trancperency or a camera and allows mixing of the data) otherwise you cant do anything with them on.

microoptical did have one HMD that was a console i think it was 40 by 30 characters and connected via serial port, i just wish i could track one down as it was the cheapest HMD i have seen and would be as easy as editing /etc/inittab to get working, if that.

--- edit ---
I was talking bollocks, this was just an article with LCD shutter glasses, not an HMD
