Opie-reader Version 0.7j
« on: November 04, 2005, 10:20:03 pm »
I've compiled the opie-reader version 0.7j.
The source code was send to me by Tim..

This is a great piece of software... simple and support lots of codecs..

Note: Please run opie-reader instead of uqtreader..

This is because the reader require READERDIR environment... so the opie-reader is just a simple script...

FLite codec is not enable yet... since i haven't compile the flite on pdaxrom..

Feel Free to try the software... and share your comments...

*EDIT: I've updated the package with libHTMLfilter and some libraries that i miss out previously (updated on 17/11/2005)

That't very nice.  I've been waiting for this for a long while.  Thanks for your package.

So, how can I create an icon on the desktop to launch opie-reader from there?

Thanks, pgas!

I found a couple of bugs. The "zoom in" and "page down" icons do not appear in the toolbar. A space for them is creating on the toolbar, and pressing the space yields the desired action.

After starting I always get the message "No filter plugins installed:HTMLfilter". In fact there is no libHTMLfilter.so installed. Which package it is in? Where do I get it? Any ideas?

I'd like to help but I don't have pdaXrom and didn't do the build for it.

libHTMLfilter.so should be part of the package and should end up somewhere like $READERDIR/plugins but that is all I know.

Sorry, but I can't help here at all. This sounds more like a padXrom question than an opie-reader question (but I could be wrong).

the name of the package is wrong.
it should not contain a _
opiereader is ok opie_reader is not.

ipkg thinks that the package name is opie and it it seems to create problems.

I have some package with _ but all is ok ... maybe - ?

At all, I have rename it to : a.ipk and the probleme is the same but now the name of the file is right :
package "a.ipk" not found on external device.

Sorry I think that isn't a problem with opie-reader but with pdaxrom ...

you have package with _ in the name of the package or after the name?

I say this because mkipkg has just yell at me when I've done this for the mini_fo package.

It should be modified in the control file inside the package and not just the name of the file.

You should be ok if  look at the files installed in the package and link them inside the root partition.

Install maybe be ok in the root partition

EDIT: willgan has updated his package. no need for this one

use the package in the first post

-------------------------------------------

I repackaged opie reader, adding the pics in the tar and the .desktop

It contains the same files  as the ones in willgan so no libHTMLfilter.so , but it should install ok

EDIT: hmmm the forums seems to change the - in the package name into a _ when the package is uploaded.....

I did upload opie-reader_0.7j_armv5tel.ipk

so maybe the package was ok the first time....
