Zaurus 5500 does not boot anymore after trying ROM upgrade.
« on: February 10, 2004, 02:59:59 pm »
Hi, I\'ve bought a Zaurus 5500 and tried to update its rom to v3.

After following the step \'3\' at www.myzaurus.com/ROMupdate5.asp, ie, running the update software and doing a full-reset, my Zaurus does not boots anymore.

It stays in the screen with Sharp logo:

INIT : version 2.78 booting
INIT : No inittab file found
INIT : Entering runlevel : 5
INIT : no more processes left in this runlevel

I\'ve tried to restore the 2.78 rom, following instructions at www.myzaurus.com/ROM3.asp but when I run setupZ.exe I receive \"Unable to connect to the Zaurus\". Maybe because there\'s not system booted at all.

How can I restore the original rom ?

Thanks in advance for any help !

Regards,
wavefunction.
