Feh Image Viewer
« on: December 02, 2005, 04:15:09 pm »
hi,

I was having troubles with gqview to view pictures taken with my digital camera.
Usually this are 700K or 350K pictures. It takes ages to go from one to another in gqview.

I found feh, compiled it and like it.

There is also a cam module, to view webcams, I didn't try but included it in the ipkg.

feh requires imlib2 and giblib.

to see all options :
# feh --help
to "slide-show"
cd to the dir with pics
# feh ./
to view thumbnails
# feh -t ./

Have fun
Chero

to get the menu : right click on a picture
to move forward/backward in a slide show : left and right arrow keys

Anyone got it going ?

At last a decent (& fast) image viewer for the Z. I had been using xzgv under Debian as a fast image viewer but its interface is a bit flaky (things don't draw/redraw when they should).

Thanks Chero.

just for those who want a quick test :

To start a slide show while making the pictures fit the screen:
# feh --scale-down /dir/with/the/pics &

Then use left and right arrows.

On my Z it takes 3 to 4 seconds to load a 700K jpg (2048x1536x16M).

That was my second choice.
I searched the forum and saw that is has been available, but I couldn't find it.
Maybe because I can't access zaurus.spy.org right now ?
