Best Zaurus To Replace...

I've been on these forums for a while and have really been enjoying my Sl5500 thanks to you guys.  I have a tough question now that relates to a project that I am working on.

What Zarus has the biggest touch screen to replace a touchscreen laptop for communicatoin and language uses for students with exceptionalities that put them into the Special Education curriculum?

I know this is sort of a loaded question and any responses would be greatly appreciated.

The SL-6000 has the largest LCD at 4 inches.  All of the clamshell models (SL-C700,750,760,860,1000,3000 & 3100) have 3.7 inch LCDs.  Search the forum for threads giving comparisons and feedback.

Addendum:

I would consider a tablet pc, but I need something that already works and is established with the open source community.  If the $100 MIT Laptop had touch screen capabilities that would be my first option, but it does not and is on a foreign path.

I would also mention that the 6000 has the brightest screen, and it is the only one that doesn't wash out in sunlight, if that is important to you.

Would you consider non-Zaurus devices?  Things like the pepper pad and new Nokia devices have even bigger screens.  If it doesn't have to be Linux, there are even more choices among Windows CE gadgets.

Just of of curiousity, why did you reject the Tablet PC?  As far as I know, they can run standard x86 Linux distributions just like laptops.

Price puts the tablets just out of my reach for the program I am working on.  I'll check out the Pepper Pad.  Its has to be Linux compatible due to the open source paradigm I am trying to maintain.

Unless you can develop the program from the ground up, including setting up your development environment, I would recommend against a Zaurus.

Dev environment is easy enough on pdaxrom.... and if he has the rest of the project more or less in mind already, then it should be no problem.
