site outage this morning
« on: February 15, 2004, 11:20:44 am »
hi all - sorry about the outage this morning.  I woke up and did my obligatory check on the site, only to find that it was down.  Mysql had stopped completely on the server.  Once mysql was restarted, everything was ok.

we\'re looking into why this happened, to hopefully prevent it from happening again.

sorry for any inconvenience

michael

It didn\'t stop completely or at least not all of a sudden. I had it randomly telling me that it couldn\'t connect to the database (about 1 in 3 attempts for the various pages I was looking at), but I was still able to use the site and post (take a look at my posts from earlier today - GMT that is - if you want an approx time).

Not sure whether this info will help you, but you never know.
