« on: February 07, 2006, 08:52:13 pm »
Hello all,

I purchased a Zaurus SL-C1000 from PriceJapan.com.

Everything on screen look pale yellow.
I also notice pale verticle lines appear.
the machine has some jpg in "Photo_Files" pre-installed.

is that normal ?

im afraid that i got a defective unit.

I took some photo of my c1000.

1st photo
[img]http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f300/hkgunner/pda/DSCN0042.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /]

2nd, compare with treo650, a little bit out focus, but we can see the contrast of my C1000 is so bad.
[img]http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f300/hkgunner/pda/DSCN0033.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /]

Last one, light off...
[img]http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f300/hkgunner/pda/DSCN0029.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /]

the viewable angle of my C1000 is narrow too. the color is changed when i view from sides. (within 30 degree)

here is the photo in my test
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f300/hkg...3_497935_20.jpg

all the photo i took can't show the pale verticle lines on the screen....
but i do notice those lines on the screen.

Can someone help me to identify the LCD display is normal or not?

Thanks

I might be wrong, but try to decrease the level of brightness on your C1000 and see if it helps.

The pre-existing photo files are normal. Just some demo photos for the photo viewer I guess. Most are beautiful landscape photos right ?

There are more photos of the C1000 (google it, or search the forum) and compare your photos to them. That might give a better indication than comparing with the Treo.

I have compared the C1000 with the SL-6000 and it certainly is a bit paler in comparison. But again, its not that pale yellow either.

when I bought my 860 it came with a nasty screen protector which caused horrible lines on the screen a bit like yours.
I took off the protector, and suddenly everything was beautiful.
I fitted a Brand extra-clear one and can barely tell it is there.

I have a Treo650 on the Sprint PCS network. I have a C1000 with Cacko 1.23 full. I was able to pair the two with the socket bluetooth card v2.5 in the Z.  The phone has been updated with v1.12a software which has the "official" DUN enabled and endorsed by sprint. The manual came with instructions in its use.  I was able to get it to work with the laptop using a BT dongle.  I am unable to get past "Initializing Modem ..."  using the hcitool i can scan and find the treo. the treo finds the zaurus. I can pair them (put in passkey on the phone).  I know the card works with the stack in PAN mode as i can link the Z to the laptop.  I need to know the console commands to test DUN with this rfcomm stuff on the Zaurus.  Any info or links to troubleshooting info for this rfcomm would be helpful.  I guess i should install minicomm on the zaurus as well.  I suspect the init string should be something other than ATZ in the BT network applet, but i am not sure.  Please help, thanks so much

it's no good tacking a question which has no relevance to the discussion already in progress, go search the forum and then if necessary start a new discussion in the security&networking section!
