Removing Screen Scratches

Anyone have any recommendations for removing scratches from the Z's screen?

I dropped my stylus on a hardwood floor, picked it up, wiped it off, and began using it. But the tip had chipped imperceptibly, I think, and now there's a small scratch where I dragged the GUI scrollbar.

On this "iPod hacks" thread, Meguire's Mirror Polish and Displex were suggested for removing screen scratches. But my Z isn't an iPod, so I don't feel comfortable rushing out to buy a bottle. Does anyone have any experience with these or other brands?

NuFinish Scratch Doctor worked well on my car.  I can no longer tell that the clearcoat or that the glass was ever scratched.  I purchased my orange tube from Target.

Using that would ruin the digitiser[touchscreen].  Don't do it.

Avoid using any kind of solvents or chemicals to clean the screen

It seems that any kind of alcohol based solvents or cleaners is harmful to a glass or plastic screen. If you do a bit of research, many will advise against using any chemicals or cleaners that contains alcohol to clean the monitor screen. Just because you can't tell the screen is damaged doesn't mean it isn't damaged. You may want to do some research on what is and isn't harmful for the glass screen. Personally, I try to avoid using any type of chemical (eg. Windex, rubbing alcohol, glass cleaner, etc) directly on the glass screen to clean it, polish it, etc because I have no idea how much damage they can cause. Over time, after prolonged use of chemicals, you will most likely discover the consequences of these chemical cleaners. Obviously, by that time, it's too late.

Well, these noticeable scratches have got to go. I think I'm going to use Displex, which, based on what I've read elsewhere, has had excellent results. Though I will stop using Windex to clean my LCDs from now on.

Meantime I've found a handy transparency printout for the 6000 that someone was kind enough to make. Just put a thin piece of transparency in the printer, print out this PDF image, cut along the lines, and then place the new protector over the display. I've attached in it case someone else would like to use it. This should tide anyone over until they stumble across "clingy" display protectors that fit the Z.

Umm - Ipod (and cell phone screens) are a hard, polycarbonate plastic. The "Screen" surface on the Z is actually a soft plastic that's part of the touch screen. I would definately *not* use a scratch remover intended for the former on the latter...
