Pdaxrom For Sl-c3200
« on: March 23, 2006, 01:32:58 am »
I tried to flash the pdaXrom on C3200 using files from kathrin-1.1.0beta1-akita.zip on the Z but it said this model is not supported.  Any suggestion?

1.1.0beta2 also does not work with the 3200.

Can someone post an updated script to allow it to install or point me in the right direction to build my own?  It seems the 3200 is the same as the 3100 but for the 6gb hard drive.

Okay, well I managed to hack around with the files a bit - made a copy of the 3100 image and patch in the tools.tar and named them 3200, and hacked the updater.sh script to allow flashing to the 3200.

Well it worked - I managed to flash the 3200 with the image for the 3100!

Unfortunately, my brand new SL-C3200 now doesn't do anything on startup.  I hit the power button, the screen flashes, and then the pda shuts down again.  I can get the bootloader menu (hold down ok when hitting power button) no problem, even tried reflashing for same effect.

Can anyone help me getting the pdaXrom running on the SL-C3200 - does it need a special kernel that is different to the 3100 in some way?

Note: this is with the  1.1.0beta2 image

there will come out a beta3? nice. I am still on the rc12 because I've modificated so much and i dont know how long it would take me to do this again. As the beta1 came out, I thought i would install it, but make a backup first (i have just a 128MB SD card and a 512MB CF Card, but which doesnt work for backup... its an kingston elite highspeed one). So time went and i was still to lazy to buy a bigger sd card... and suddenly there was beta2. And after that i thought: better wait for the stable version first . So I wanted to know how many betas are planned before the stable and how long it would take for the stable (approximately).

thanks

Same here, I'm still running RC12 because of all the mods I've made.  Having an upgrade mode without having to reinstall everything would be very nice, although I can understand it not being the highest priority.

I'm trying to build a rom for the C3200 using the vmware builder image, but am unsure about which version of the sources to get.

I've read the Builder Howto from the wiki but it seems to be for the 860

What are the exact files that I need to grab for the C3200 to get a kernel the same as in the 1.1.0beta2 ROM?
