[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=133847\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

I believe someone was working on chinese input / output for Opie. Dunno the status of that and no idea if chinese I/O is supported on GPE / X11

that should be quite easy in GPE as long as the X server has been compiled with UTF8 support. there are several input servers like canna or scim. just need to compile and install one of them and install some unicode fonts that contain the complete or at least required charsets. you will also need an appropriate locale if you want to localise the menus as well.

i almost forgot, QT and KDE also need to be compiled with UTF8 support and the appropriate font codecs in order to support chinese/japanese

Here's a preview of what T2 is going to offer:

Fluxbox allows virtual desktops, and (finally!) easy access to minimized windows.
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=133846\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Hi CoreDump - Does this mean you have the fluxbox window-minimization bug sorted?  If so, is there a pace where I can dnload the newer version?

Cheers,

Yes, minimized windows are handled even better than with matchbox-wm (IMO)

A new RC (T2-RC1) GPE-only for SL-Cxx00 is uploading currently.

The changes over T1 are:

- fluxbox windowmanager instead of matchbox wm
- xscreensaver (sonar and a few others, [a href=\"http://hentges.net/tmp/screenshots/Zaurus/Akita/GPE/sonar.jpg]sonar[/url] beeing the default)
- A new simple setup-wizzard after first-boot

The image is now online.

Fn+Menu brings up the Fluxbox root menu
Fn+Home minimizes the current window
Home switches through all open windows
Alt+r reloads the fluxbox config

Happy flashing

BRILLIANT - saves me a job . . . However . . .

I've just tried installing (twice) on a C3200 and both times I get the standard GPE (matchbox) WM, and I cannot see fluxbox or sonar installed.  I get the new OpenZaurus bootsplash, followed by the OE (Hentges) screen, so it definitely installed, and I "ok" the question about deleting prefs in /home/*.

Now I could be going mad, but it doesn't seem to work.

Err oops. Looks like I disabled rebuilding the "Packages" file after making changes. I do this a lot to safe (quite a bit of) time on image-rebuilds. However, if you change dependencies they are  not beeing picked up in that case. Rebuilding...

Yes, menu-navigation using Alt appears to work fine now.

Alt is the japenese key to the right of Ctrl

The spitz directory is still empty. Was there a problem building the spitz version or just takes that long to build?

I like your idea of using fluxbox

I'm eager to try it out.

No, I didn't update the meta-data for spitz on the first try, and failed to copy the correct files on the second try

Anyway, the image is (finally) online.

Hiya

Love the new release works really well!

Really like the way the new logo and the elements boot up in the bar like in a desktop distro.

Couple of thoughts for the next release.

The start up questions are in a very odd order and some should have yes/no questions not ok/cancel ones. Might need a little rejigging there.

I like the new bar at the top, is there any way to have things minimise to the bar at the bottom like in desktops?

Could we have some more standard windows fonts, arial, times new, etc?

Is abiword capable of opening opendocs?
