Got Java Plugin For Firefox Working
« on: April 21, 2006, 02:45:09 pm »
i just managed to compile it and tested that it can load applets from websites. it looks a bit odd though, a bit too small on the screen, especially the small Z screen. more debugging and hacking needed tomorrow morning. time to sleep.

Meanie -- you continue to quietly post one after another solutions that have eluded a lot of very smart hackers on this forum and that have been requested for years. w00t!

Got it working now! the plugin works very nicely, but unfortunately not all applets work yet. The plugin uses jamvm and classpath, in particular classpath which still has some problems with rendering. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Special thanks to Cortez who compiled jamwm and classpath for pdaXrom.

Thanks!

Yeah! OK now one look on GPLFLASH, if we got Flash Pluging working more fast ... this will be nice...
I think we need only change sources to use less resolution when playing flash

« Reply #11 on: April 25, 2006, 06:44:18 am »
did everyone install perl, jamvm 1.4.2 and classpath 0.9?

the way the plugin works is that firefox loads libgcjwebplugin.so which then invokes the gcjappletviewer perl script which in turn calls jamvm which loads classpath and gcjapplet.jar

make sure that jamvm and classpath are correctly configured and can actually run java applications
