When I try to install certain packages (for ex kde pim), the installation it tries to change permissions from uid to gid but triggers an error message which blocks the rest of the install.

How should I deal with that?

Where do you install the package? Card? Is this card vfat formatted?

What rmrfchik means is that you should not install onto a vfat formatted media. Read this for more info:
