Are we still on the "extreme tester" plan?  Beta 4 is, or will be a gigantic improvement, I think, --but I have beta3 running just the way I want atm.  Is a flash tomorrow likely to be a crash dummy experience or a pretty well worked out rom (for a beta)? or somewher in between?

Good work Sash! UBoot should rock. I'm going to give that a try on my C3000. Do you have an idea what would be necessary to make it work on other models (tosa for one)?
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=126402\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Currently i added Cxx00 and C7x0/860. Probably for tosa need add tosa NAND flash driver. That easy with one from kernel sources. I'll look later.

Hello

Very interesting work on uboot.

Are the sources for your uboot with the addons availalbe somewhere?
Is your release (md5 : 6814ebadc2f71df24840a81334b07576) including C7x0 support?

Guylhem
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=126883\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

here current patch. C7x0 added but not tested fully. Add in include/config/corgi.h next lines for support Sharp NAND logical partition:

Code: [Select]
#define NAND_LOGICAL  1
#define NAND_LOGICAL_SIZE    0x700000

For debug you need serial cable.
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=126893\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Thanks Sashz for the patch file. I would like to test this on my C760, but I'm not sure how to install. Could you (or someone else who may know how) please post step by step instructions for installing beta4 onto C7x0, including what steps are needed to apply the patch ? Sorry if I'm missing something that may be obvious to others...

Many thanks in advance...

Can apps be compiled from source in beta4 yet?
ie. is there a zgcc for beta4?
if not, why not?
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=127186\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

I compiled SWI prolog on Beta4 just fine using ZGCC from beta2. (zgcc-3.4.5.img)

So native compilation is still no problem.

Excellent, thanks for the confirmation. I'll go install it. I can live with a buggy environment as long as i can still try and install the apps i want.

Sound should be easy to fix by using proper alsa config.

IIRC someone work on getting CE-RH1 or CE-RH2 working but only in free time so who knows when it will be done..

I use OZ not pdaX. In OZ we supply proper ALSA configs which are loaded on start of device.

I remember using alsa config to fix my audio problems with the compaq armada 1750.  It only fixed it halfway to were i couldnt hear the audio from the desktop but i can hear the audio from the music.

in terminal i typed alsaconfig and it would launch but of course you need the libraries installed if you want to play with it and after that, it's all a matter of guessing what works.  I'm sure the oz dudes can list the configuration they used to make the audio work.

Awesome, I really need those 200 extra MHz!
Does this require the newer kernel?
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=127141\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

You can use cpu config in Beta3 and do the same thing... with ouf this fix...
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=127149\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Sorry, I was not clear. I know this is for beta 4, and for 2.6 kernels, but does this require sashz's new beta4 kernel? (with the voltage addon)

I flash OpenZaurus 3.5.4.1-rc, start and sound is working. I can use alsamixer to configure but does not have to. I'm 100% sure that pdaX can be configured to have it too.

Basically it need to run alsamixer once, configure it, use 'alsactl store' and then add 'alsactl restore' in initscripts.

Socket low power Wifi card not working. Dmesg shows firmware not loading. I've tried placing the firmware in various locations:
/etc/pcmcia/firmware
/lib/firmware
/etc/hotplug/firmware

But no joy

This post makes me wonder if scripts for loading FW are missing https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=19387

Anyone have any suggestions?

Cheers,
Jerry

**Edit***
Nevermind, just read frimware.agent in /etc/hotplug. I put firmware in /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware and bingo, wifi card is working.

In case anyone else needs the firmware for a Socket card, here it is. You need both files in the zip

One other issue I've run into: on boot it wants to mount /dev/hda1 to /mnt/cf. Unfortunately, my internal drive seems to be /dev/hda1-4 (four partitions). I've fixed fstab so it mounts the internal drives ok & /mnt/cf, but sometimes when I pull the CF card, it won't remount on insert, as it says /dev/hdc1 doesn't exist.

The cards applet on fbpanel eject the internal drive and only way to get them back is to reboot.

Cheers,

Jerry

Is SL 6000 still supported by pdaxrom?
I didn't see any update since beta1...
