Xfce4 And The Menu Key
« on: July 04, 2006, 12:37:52 pm »
I am running pdaXrom Beta 1 on my C1000, and my trusty menu key works just fine.

When I installed xfce4, however, the menu key no longer works.

I've searched the forums and I've checked out my akita.xmodmap files, all to no avail. I have determined that I need to find a way to attach the command "libdesktopmenu" to a key - but how?

Thoughts? Suggestions? Cash payments for no apparent reason? All will be gladly accepted.

hi,

go to "window manager settings" in the tab "keyboard"
create a new theme, change one of the "custom commands" to "xfdesktop -menu" when asked to press a key, press the menu key. Done.
You can set 10 custom commands, on the contrib site there's a description for using this to change rotation.

BTW : this function is lost in xfce 4.4.beta1 (f**k !!) (it is a stephen king story after all !)

Have fun,
Chero.
