i m thinking about getting one of those, since i use my Z to listen to podcast alot, it would be so much easier to have a remote, but i can't seem to find any, a guy offered one for 70 bucks, is that fair? or anyone know where i can get one for cheaper?

Yeah they can be expensive for somthing made out of $3 worth of parts. if you have a soldering iorn i recomend you do a search for the schematics. i have one for the RE1 that i posted and someone replied to that with the correct risistor settings for the RE2 so try searching for RE2 and my user name

as far as i know it only works yor 2.4 bassed pda's however there is nothing to stop you from writing a quick and dirty deamon that reads the microphone input and acts acoridngly

one other thing you may like to splice in is a high power IR transmitter and reciver to connect a LIRC remote if you use your Z as a music box. just post back if you want more details and ill whip up a circuit for you

Conics.net offers a brand new one for 69 bucks.  I bought mine from them when they first came out and still use it daily.

I know the rh-2 is expensive but I definately think that its worth it if you listen to music.  As far as I know you are going to have to bite the bullet on the price.  The rh-2 is relatively hard to find, even in Japan.  I have been living in Japan for 5 weeks and have only seen the rh-2 in a display window once, I think it was 6300 yen (~$57).
