Problem With My Buffalo Wifi Card...><
« on: July 20, 2006, 11:33:09 am »
i had cacko before, my buffalo-wli2-cf-s11 worked find, browsing web sites just as fast as my laptop with netfront and opera, but i switched to pdaxrom + xfce4 + rox, and now finally got it to work, but the problems are:

1)  it's slow as hell....i m sitting in front of my laptop and z now, i can load up just about any site under 5 sec. but on my z, i tried firefox and dillo, dillo is worse then firefox, loading site speed wise. but even in firefox, the only site that shows up almost instanly is google.com, thats it, anything else takes forever, like msn.com, yahoo.com, livejournal.com.....i donno whats wrong...i know this card can handle much more traffic...

2) i can't scan aps with it anymore, when i was with cacko, i can use kismet, it worked like a charm, but now, i can get kismet to load, but it just can't see any AP even when i m like right next to my Wrouter. so i tried
Code: [Select]
iwlist wlan0 scan and it told me that interface doesn't support scan.....WTF....

it's just driving me crazy....i donno whats wrong with it....i searched this forum for like 5 times, i find alot complains about not being able to get this card to work, but once they got it to work, everything seemed find, no one has complained about it being slow or anything....so i donno if it's just me or what ><

i was so pround of my War Walking ability......come back...war walking.......

Sounds like it could be using the wrong driver - have a look through the posts you mentioned and see which ones they used/tried and try them.
