I'm pretty new here but I believe the C1000/C3x00 has an SD slot for memory and a CF slot for a wifi card.

i assume you mean SDIO and SD memorey (you need to elaborate a bit more on your posts)

SD cards work, SDIO dosent.

Why: Closed source, NDA licsencing fees stuff

is this a bad thing: it depends, in general no it isnt

Why: because the devices that suppert or can support SDIO all have usb host support for the wierd stuff (anything not bluetooth or wifi)

Take my advice and get a CF card for wifi. i have used both and the SDIO wifi cards signal can be blocked by a peice of paper (i am joking of course) but it is crappy and it chews power. i have also had one fail on me (there are 2 types branded by 4 diffrent companies, i had the long one not the short)

if you get a c1000 then you can put bluetooth and wifi internally

I see everybody talking about it ... and being very afraid of tinkering with hardware these days - I have a reputation of breaking apart - taking things apart and not able to put back correctly - three turntables (1 vintage expensive stuff), so family keeps me away from these things  - I have not much visited the hardware mod's forum - lest that gets me going again...

So how can I go ahead, or more precisely, who can do it for me - and add internal wifi and bluetooth ? I would love to have built-in bluetooth at least - since I have a CF wifi card.

Is it an easy excercise, or one of those - "do at your own risk" type jobs ?
Is there any one doing it for others on a pay-per-job basis ?

I highly recomend you dont go and seee all the cool stuff in the hardware area

i would list the hack as "low risk" as the solder points are fairly large and ot near anything critiral. but i would recomend having some soldering experince

you will probelly find that every topic that links to that hack has me posting the link somwhere  the only problem is the site with the info is down and i havent been able to contact the albertr to get the info
