D-link Dcf-660w Pdaxrom Not Working
« on: July 26, 2006, 01:05:20 pm »
Hi, I've a SL-C760 Zaurus with pdaXrom (nice :D), 1.1.0Beta1 "Kathrin" .

I see how my DCF-660W Wireless CF Card, it's loaded with hostap drivers, and iwconfig/ifconfig shows. But, iwconfig shows Bit Rate=2M/s (or 1Mb/s) allways. I try to connect to my AP with :

shell# iwconfig wlan0 essid myap

iwconfig show AP Mac (if connect), but i not receive data. I try ifconfig wlan0 up, and use tcpdump to sniff traffic, how dhcpd client request bootp (for DHCP IP/DNS), but i not received nothing. If I set IP , not works.

dmesg shows :

wlan0: LinkStatus=6 (Association failed)
wlan0: LinkStatus: BSSID=44:44:44:44:44:44

or

wlan0: LinkStatus=2 (Disconnected)

.

¿Somebody have this card and works fine with pdaXrom?.

Please, help me

I've also got this card and it works fine on my C3000 with 1.1.0beta1. I simply made the necessary settings in the "Lan & Wifi" tool and the card was detected automatically and works perfectly since then.

Make sure you have a section like this in /etc/pcmcia/hostap_cs.conf:

Code: [Select]
card "D-Link DCF-660""
 version "D-Link", "DCF-660W"
 manfid 0xd601, 0x0005
 bind "hostap_cs"

In my hostap_cs.conf file there was another card defined for this manfid (0xd601, 0x0005).

Could you check what you have set via the "Lan & Wifi" manager?

Beware, though: After I closed the "Lan & Wifi" tool my Zaurus did hang and I had to reset it. After that everything was fine.
Owner of a very happy Zaurus SL-C3000 since the day he was fed with pdaXrom 1.1.0beta1! Just made him even more happy by feeding him with pdaXii13 build 5.4.7.
