Brasero Burning

Has anybody tried running this under pdaXrom on a cxxxx with an usb(2) DVD burner? Does it work? Any packages for 1.1b1 anywhere?

EDIT

Looks like you need a 2.6 kernel

Anybody this under OZ or a recent pdaX then?

Don't know, I've only used cdrecord. What I have found is that because pdaXrom lacks the UDF module (in beta3 or below, ie the 2.4 kernel - not sure about the 2.6 kernels though), it'll read DVD-r's that are in ISO9660 format (I suspect it'll also write to DVD's if you use ISO), or DVD-RAM that are formatted in a supported filesystem (I've had success with ext2). However when I mount a DVD-RAM (only tried ext2) it gets mounted as read-only (says that disc is write protected). So no writing to DVD-RAM, this is something that I would really love to be able to do - it makes a great backup medium.

I think the Z's USB port is only USB 1.1 not 2.

cal:

yes I know, only 4x speed CD burning and, what, 1x DVD burning, maybe?

Not the fastest burning setup ever but sure beats not being able to burn at all!

Desertrat:

Shame about that lack of DVD-RAM writing support, but i noticed that the latest brasero supports a different new backend in addition to cdrecord, and as you say things might be different under 2.6 anyway.

I didn't know that any usb1.1 dvd writers had been made.  I'm sure you will be able to get it to work if there are.

I'm using one of these interfaces attached to a standard IDE DVD writer

I'm pretty sure that the Zaurus port is USB2.0, but I know it doesn't support the full speed of 2.0.  I'm guessing this is a 2.0 protocol with 1.1 speed, or something like that.
Device: SL-C3200 running pdaXii13v2 build 5.5.0
Networking: Symbol Spectrum24 WLAN card; Kingston CIO10T CF NIC
Storage: 4GB Transcend 150x SD; 16GB Transcend 133x CF; 4GB Seagate CF HDD; 4GB Patriot SD
HID: Logitech V450 Laser Mouse; generic silicone USB keyboard; 2 generic optical mice; stock plastic stylus
GPS: generic "UT-41" USB GPS Receiver
Case: neoprene case from my old Palm foldable keyboard

Yup, you're correct. Meanie's website gives the specifics.
