build 5.4.6 has been moved to the stable release.
also updated the release notes convention.

The following indicators are used in the release notes to show whether a bug fix or feature can be applied by patching or upgrading.

    * ( - included in pdaXii13 base and full
    * (f) - included in pdaXii13 full only
    * (p) - can be patched/updated via pdaXii13-custom.tgz
    * (i) - install/upgrade of new or existing package required

This means from now on, you can easily tell if a new feature has been added to the full edition only or is also part of the base edition (the akita edition is the base edition)
You can also easily tell if you can patch/update to get the new feature/fix or you need to reflash...

additionally, a new unstable feed will be added (http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/beta3/unstable) which will contain experimental/untested packages. the e17 packages will also be added into this feed.
to install e17 on pdaXii13 simply run

ipkg install e17-pdaxii13

also make sure you have updated to the latest xsession package

yeah, I was bored and needed to watch some flv videos I downloaded off youtube and mplayer optimised with bvdd was the only one that allowed me to watch it smoothly and fullscreen...

none of these fancy 2.6 based kernel distros can do that yet...

anyways, I also compiled some extra modules for e17 such as a screencap and mixer module...
might create a card and usb module as well since that doesn't exists yet...

Very nice.  Thank you.  Are using Aki_Rose's e17 build or did you build it yourself?  The Card and USB modules would be greatly appreciated for e17.  I'm using XFE or the console to do it under MayDew and it is awkward at best.
I think I'm coming down with what kahm's got!  I now have 3 Zaurii in house!  ;)

its my own build using the newer 0.38 sources with optimisation flags -O2 -mcpu=xscale -mtune=xscale -ffast-math -funroll-loops -fomit-frame-pointer and runs much faster...

the feed is [a href=\"http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/beta3/unstable/]http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/beta3/unstable/[/url]

make sure you install the latest xsessions package (0.5.6) first.

then simply install e17-pdaxii13 and it should pull all the required dependencies...

then run xselect to switch window manager to enlightenment and startx

of course you can also just install e17 without my customisations. just install e17 ipk instead. the e17-pdaxii13 package contains extra pdaXii13 keymappings and preconfigured applications menu as well as preconfigured theme and splash screen. it also installs and loads extra modules, ie mixer, cpu and screenshot...

Meanie, Antikx, psyco?

It would appear  that some of the newer packages are ion the feed directories, but not properly available through the pachags list.-At least it looks that way from here.  Mybe I have an error I'm unaware of, or maybe the list needs t The to be regenerated? the package that caught my attention was the new (5.6) xsessions.

I had (everything I use runs on either ipks or debs..), but my z was acting up. I reflashed it, and as you suggest, the packages appear in the"new" setup.

Excellent.  I'll be reflashing my 1000 to pdaXii13 e17 since I borked my MayDew install by installing too many goodies.  Any word on the Cards/USB module for e17?  That one would make e17 nearly feature complete for me.   Thanks again Meanie.

To black the screen (i.e. diminish the intensity), use the key [3] while holding the meta key at the left of [-].

You must ensure that the init script of Meanie is executed at the startup of e17

Meanie,
i'm back to pdaxii13 5.4.6 and it seems that menu-suspend doesn't really suspend the zaurus but is just switching off the screen...are you aware of that?
suspending via the on/off button seems to work however...

ps: i'm using icewm
