OZ3.3.5 suspend broken?
« on: March 05, 2004, 01:44:13 pm »
I have oz3.3.5, and have noticed this problem where, after a hard reset (switch on \"replace battery\", hit recessed button in battery case...), the zaurus works ok, but after the very first suspend (press&hold Cancel...), the screen gets very dim, never goes off, and the touchscreen and all keys stop responding (with the dim image on-screen).  It\'s a zombie when it is like this, toggling the switch on the back from \"Normal\" to \"replace battery\" has no effect - still no response and still the dim screen is visible.  Only when I actually do another hard reset will it respond again! and even then, it takes a few seconds after I hit the recessed reset before the screen finally goes off.

This is making my zaurus unusable...

Has anyone else seen this?
What can I do about it?

Thanks

I assume that this is the 5500 hardware problem called the double reset bug. Make sure you suspend (ie. with the button) at least once after you perform a hard reset.

Hmm... Didn\'t know about that hardware problem, but I seem to have gotten control of my Z once again.

I found that I could also suspend with the command \"apm -s\".  Once I issued that command \"just one time!\" the Zaurus suddenly works ok again.  I can suspend/resume with the On/Off button with no problem at all.

Is this related to the \"double reset\" bug?

Anyway, thanks for responding!
