FOR THE 5600... imho...

tkc looks real nice, but is kinda lame
oz is just broke, but has lotsa potential just needs like 5 more developers.

sharp out of box works but is just plain ugly

zynergy is where its at !

Flashed Zynergy 5600 a few days ago--

1.) Device wouldn\'t turn on!  (Would, thank God, open the Updater menu after hard reset--flashed back to Sharp 1.32, then tried again...)

2.) Got Sharp logo screen, never even got the \"Init vXXX...\" message.

Those were all the chances Zynergy got, on my device, at least...evidently, YMMV...

Ethereal, did you format after installing the rom?  I\'ve installed Zynergy at least 4 times and never experienced anything like that.

CoreyC, no I didn\'t--since Zynergy is supposedly \"Sharp-derived,\" I was hoping I could keep my data, and my experience restoring from the PC backup software has been less than perfect, to say the least, so I didn\'t reformat--is that SOP?

Sorry, I have never used the backup software.  Yes, you have to go back into the maintenance menu and format after flashing the rom.

So, one must start \"from scratch\" whenever changing ROM\'s (even within the \"Sharp-based\" family...)?

I don\'t know about that... but both Zynergy and tkcrom require it.

If you don\'t you will find bits and pieces of your previous rom that may or may not work properly. The format option clears that up.

you can flash oz, not format.. and flash back to sharp... and your sharp data will be there.
well, at least you could in the past.
