I'm trying to install the latest pdaXrom (pdaXrom-1.1.0r121-Kathrin-akita) on my SL-3100. If I'm correct then I need to install Uboot first to be able to repartition the root partition in the flash-ROM.
The Uboot install runs fine and claims to reboot the device at the end. After that the zaurus is pretty much dead, nothing works anymore. Luckily I can start the service menu from ROM (FN-D-M) and restore the NAND.
Am I doing something wrong here? Any help is appreciated ;-)
After you install u-boot you will no longer be able to boot whatever was on the Z previously.
But you should be able to boot the emergency system, that should be used to install the rest of r121. On your firs reboot it should start up the emergency system on it's own but if it does not try this:
remove power and battery
hold the OK button(and keep holding it) while you insert the power plug
keep pressing the OK button untill you see the usual kernel loading messages and then let go (it should take 10 to 15 secs).
If nothing still happens then something went wrong.
Can you get the emerg system to boot ?
