Feed For Tosa?
« on: February 23, 2007, 02:55:29 pm »
I've found the feed for Tosa in the downloads section, but it's limited.  Several new packages seem to be available.

@ pdaxrom.org/community there are 2 feeds listed: rc5 & rc11.  I'm not sure the Tosa is included in either of those two?

Another (hopefully) quick question:  Is there a good howto on modfiying the kemap?  The input helper doesn't get me where I need to be (basically using either the Fn button or the "dot" button as CTRL).

Thanks!

For the keymap, type xev in a console. Then press a key and look at the output to see its keycode. Take that and edit /etc/X11/kb/Tosa/xmodmap_us. If the keycode isn't in the file, add it in the same format as the others. You can also change the functions of other keys there.

As for feeds, I think any pdaXrom feed should work as long as it is for the correct beta.
SL-C750- pdaXrom beta 1 (mostly unused)
Current distro: Gentoo

If I recall correctly, the SL6000 feed is the smallest because there aren't that many packages specific to it - everything else comes from the C760 etc feed. rc5/rc11 are quite old now; there should be beta1/beta3 feeds.

@Capn_Fish: Thanks!  I'll check into that.

@karito or anyone else: I'm hoping someone with a Tosa can chime in here.  How many folks with a Tosa have tested other feeds and packages (including the ones at the sticky above)?  Any war stories, success stories?  Anyone gotten firefox to run on the Tosa?

Thanks!

Beta1 is the most stable for tosa in my experience.  Firefox 1.5 runs....  ( a little slow)

The feed and install files are at the following link:

You can also use the feed for 7x0-8x0

ZAURII:    sl-6000 : (temporarily) bricked pdaxrom b1   ||   sl-c3200 : yonggun/Debian-EABI
OTHERS:  htc-excalibur,  axim x5,  ipaq 4355, (still trying to find useable linux setups)
thinking about gumstix to replace/augment zaurus

I run Firefox too (when I can be bothered waiting for it to load). I also install apps from many feeds RC12 through beta3 and generic ones posted in threads here without hassles (except those marked as beta4/r121 only).
