Lauching scripts/commands from the GUI
« on: March 12, 2004, 05:28:46 pm »
I would like to be able to lauch scripts or command from the GUI. For example \"/usr/bin/ssh -F myconfig\". So, I go to the Tab Settings app and add a new application. I put in the name and select an icon, but when I put the command in under Program, it says it does not exist. If I click on the \"...\" to browse the list of programs, ssh is not listed. If I can\'t use the full path to add in a program, how do I get it registered so I can pick it off of the list?

The .desktop files will only launch exes in /opt/QtPalmtop/bin so you need to create a script which points to the actual executable and place that in /opt/QtPalmtop/bin (or a symlink if you must).

Thanks for the info. I did a search and didn\'t come up with anything. I guess I\'m learning my way around the site as well as around the Z.
