IRK v0.11
« on: March 21, 2004, 06:50:36 am »
After following the thread about task switchers, I took a look at Yakty\'s Keyhelper application, and thought the functionality for swapping tasks was handy, but it didn\'t work with my Pocketop - so I\'ve updated IRK, poaching some code from the Keyhelper application to add task switching from the Pocketop/Targus IR keyboard

I\'ve provided two functions for task switching - one which simply swaps to the next task, and another that pops up a list of current tasks and lets you select from it (both taken from Keyhelper).

IRK 0.11 should be released tommorow - except I don\'t have my old IRK website anymore. Is there somewhere here I could upload the new version to?

Wrote a couple of things....
IRK, SubApplet, QMode2, NetActive, SimpleEdit, zPocketScript.

You can upload it to the ZUG D/L section with the information, then it shouldn\'t take offroadgeek to long to approve and host it.

Thanks for your work

Ok, I\'ve uploaded IRK v0.11.0 to the ZUG downloads area now....no doubt it\'ll appear RSN.

There might be a v0.12.0 soon as well - I\'ve received some patches from Japan to make IRK play nice with Xqt and add support for another Palm IR keyboard, just gotta find time to integrate them....

No.

lol

I will cross compile it if you can\'t be bothered to set up a GCC 3.x toolchain, but you\'ll have to tell me what I need by way of source, etc.

Not a case of cann\'t be bothered, just no time to setup the toolchain - and no incentive either (as I won\'t move to an incompatible ROM).

I didn\'t think breaking compatibility was a bright move for the OZ folks - in these days of reduced developer activity it struck me as a bizarre decision...

Mail me for the source if you want to compile it yourself...

Just for the records... it is our belief that to discover new grounds (read: more speed, increased stability, new features) you have to break compatibility. Developer situation is irrelevant as we always had only 2 and a half one and I don\'t see signs of new people regardless of us continuing to use an outdated compiler.

We will break compatibility even more (read: totally), when we move to a faster and smaller libc (uClibc). Oh and btw., the Opie team will break compatibility also, because they will move to Qt/Embedded 4.

The SharpROM for the SA-models is outdated and unmaintained anyway, so why try to be compatible?

It doesn\'t seem to be in the ZUG Download yet, unless I\'m looking in the wrong place.

The only thing keeping me from oz right now is the lack of irk.

Where is the source? I can add a irk-package to OpenEmbedded which may be compatible with OZ 3.3.6-pre1.
