I also think it is wrong to make people who have recently bought software from them, to then pay again if they buy a new machine, this could give Microsoft yet another nasty idea....
I think there was a big discussion on this issue on the older forums a long time back. While many disagreed with it, others saw some reason to it.
I personally don\'t think TkeKompany was (or is) totally wrong in asking consumers to pay seperately for the different Zauruii - more to with the C7xx series, since it really does have a different screen resolution. While I agree it may not be that big a difference (apart from other hardware differences), its neverthless is their only revenue model and so they are righful in deciding to sell seperate versions. And remember the C7xx series came out long after they had designed their apps for the 5xx series, so its not like they had it pre-planned.
Aslo I think it was a small price to pay in return for their initial offer of life-time support for their apps (which they changed I believe down the line).
Actually I have ultimately bought a version of tkcFTP for the C7xx series, and now dont use my tkcPIM apps for the 5000D that I had bought initially (except the tkcKapital product).
And on the initial thread header - inspite of all differences between all of our opinions - I think its good to have theKompany around and have them develop and sell apps for the zaurus. So much as I may not like some apps, I dont think we should go around proseletysing (argh spelling) against them. They are a part of the zaurus economy (or ecosystem - to use some jargon needlessly).
