Interstellar Flames on my Z
« on: March 25, 2004, 09:27:32 am »
Has anyone bought Interstellar Flames?

I bought it for my friend to play on his 5500, OMG! It seriously rocks, and looks incredible, I would like to run it on my 860, it looks good, runs good but the keys make it impossible on my machine.

Does anyone know if it can be tricked into landscape?

Or has anyone with a machine like mine been able to re-assign keys in EonConfig without causing a crash?

I am planning to write to EonGames because this is a brilliant game that needs opening to a wider Zaurus audience.  Sadly, after playing it on a 5500, it puts the games on 860 to shame (except Doom...  and Super Mario Kart ;-) )

BTW, anyone know there the comma key is on Frodo on the 860?
cant load dsk files without ,8 on the end.

if it\'s on qtopia there could be a scale option, if you hold down the pointer on the icon.  This caused me problems with several applications.  If it\'s highlighted, remove it.

Had quite a bit of correspondense with EonGames about this. Asking if they would consider making some of their games more usable on C7xx/760 models. Perhaps more stylus oriented or virtual controls on screen etc.

Suggested we would bundle the demos free if they did.

Also told them that there was a huge Japanese base of potential game buyers out there as well, but in the end could not get them to bite...

Shame, considering how many units are sold in Japan, I reckon they could have been on to a winner.

Feel free to email them though. At least I won\'t be the only one to have ever enquired

But the way, I managed to get past the first level of the demo on the C750 using it like a book, so it is possible to get the hang of using it like that. Need to be a bit careful you don\'t drop it in all the excitement.

Tried that first, no joy.

COME ON GUYS! There must be more users than that!

If you have a 5500, buy it.  If you have a C series and want it, shall we start a petition?

Everyone should start emailing them and get them moving on this.

I\'ve seen other multi-coloured puzzle games and other stuff for the Z, poor. But this is up there as a MUST along with Doom.

(BTW, Zuber, my 860 came from you guys last Friday - SHIRTPOCKET ROCKS!!!)

Eh?  When I downloaded it the extension was .zip.  Is your browser adding the extension?

BTW, the demo runs just fine on my 5500, although I haven\'t plugged my headphones in to check the sound.

The demo did mishave on the 5500 I used, it would lock up sometimes, but the full product was great.

Ever considered the simple answer that the developer doing the ports doesnt own a clamshell devices and doesnt think it would be worth the time and money to buy one and update the games for it?

Well that seems obvious, still, it\'s a shame, the Z could do with a few good games.  But I\'ve asked the company, they won\'t even reply, so....
