blueproton 802.11b card ?
« on: March 26, 2004, 07:14:43 pm »
My sandisk connect 802.11b card died (possibly due to too much messing with kismet and trying to get wellreiter to work consistently on my 5600) so I am looking for a replacement, any recommendations ?
I was pretty happy with the card, seemed to work very well until about 2 weeks ago when I was getting \"low signal strength\" warnings when sitting within 3m of my access point ! This then progressed to problems recognising the card - kept showing up as \"anonymous memory\" this led to a couple of reflashes until I realised that it must be the card !

I have seen blueproton 802.11b cards advertised  -any one try them ?
C3100   - Cacko with PDAXRom and OZ pretensions !

5600 - 255, 256m & 1G Sandisk SD, Wizgo 802.11b, Pocketop irk, bluemonkey BT, Watapon, OZ 3.5.3 Henteges, with a sprinkling of pocketworkstation - depending on the weather !

blueproton 802.11b card ?

I got a hold of a blueproton CF 802.11b card last week. It works with easy configuration on a WinCE 2.11 H/PC using Intersil reference drivers for prism2 chips. Even though the configuration seems to be in place for this card in /etc/pcmcia/wlan-ng.conf on the Zaurus SL5600 I have, I\'ve seen no lights yet. I\'m tempted to bag it for Socket CF. I haven\'t given up yet, but it\'s close. Any tips would be greatly appreciated !!

I am a newbie, but I would NOT recommend this Blueproton card.  I bought the card from blueproton.com, because it stated Zaurus compatibility and showed pix.  However, I have tried for several hours to get the card to work with my Netgear router.  Blueproton did not respond to my request for support!!!  The CF wifi card is actually made by Senao.  Although the card tries to initialize and the LED lights up, I cannot establish a connection.  After finding a site that had reviews of the Senao card, I read that others had problems between the Senao and their Netgear router.  If you don\'t use netgear, then you may be alright.  Seriously, if you\'re interested in it, I\'ll sell you mine at a very reasonable price.  Otherwise, I\'ll probably just put it on Ebay.

I purchased this card a few days ago and it works fine apart from one thing. I can\'t remember which ROM it was (i just got my Zaurus so it gets flashed about 10 times a day while i test various combinations of Apps etc) , the Wireless Settings app would not let me use the card with WEP disabled....every time i went in to check the settings it was set to 40-Bit and when i change it to disabled it wouldnt connect - every other ROM i have tried works fine.
