I think most of us are concerned about the disappearing feeds and repositories containing Zaurus ROM images and software, it is a crucial issue for our community.
I would guess you were trying to reach Antikx, I will try to find out what is going on by emailing him and, if necessary, one or more of his pals. I think he had to sell his Zaurus, and recall he was busy working full time and taking care of his family.
But meanwhile, I do have some thoughts about getting free webspace and ftp/ssh access. Such offers are appealing, but the bottom line is that if you get freebies through another private individual, at some point that resource is likely to disappear when that person changes hosting providers or simply stops paying for service they can no longer afford.
I ran into that myself when Tyrannozaurus went down. I had software on a feed there, and it disappeared. I was not ready to pay for webspace, there were too many choices and none offering the level of service I wanted, at a price I could afford, so I did not take any action.
Then, much to my dismay, the commercial company hosting my free Zaurus website (which did not allow having non html files) stopped providing free sites, they were having too much trouble getting ads that would cover costs.
For me, it was a no brainer, I did not want the website I had worked so hard to make available to the community to go away, and I upgraded to paid service. I could have moved my site to a friend's server for free, but I decided I wanted to have my own independent site, which I could be sure would stay there as long as I could keep paying for it.
Five dollars a month is too much for just one website, relative to what I could get from other providers, but I know the server I am using is reliable, and that counts for a lot. Plus, there are links to that URL from all over the forums and elsewhere, and I would lose the little regular traffic they generate if I went elsewhere, and it would be way too much work to change domains.
Anyhow, end of rant about reliability of private offers. I do have one suggestion for you to check into, a little know resource I just found out about that is a nonprofit Public Linux System that says they offer free webspace to members!
Check out
http://sdf.org, I am not sure how good they are, and the initial shell they provide is not very user friendly, you can upgrade that to bash once you are validated by another member or make a small donation.
You can see a lot of people have free websites there, just do a site search using google or yahoo or whatever search engine you like, to see examples:
site:freeshell.org
Freeshell.org is the domain for free webspace for members at the basic membership level, other domains are available if you upgrade by making a larger donation.
I believe you can get 500mb of webspace, plenty for a small feed, I do not yet know if ftp or scp work there.
And I have one more thought, our community has not taken advantage of another free web resource,
http://www.oldapps.com, which is mostly Windows but it looks to me like they are open to change that, they do have a Linux section. I think it would be a great place to deposit ROM images, at a bare minimum, maybe also packages. Maybe get them to make a Mobile Linux or Zaurus section.
But I will try to reach Antikx, I wanted to get ahold of him anyhow for other reasons.
