You could check out this site: http://www.choup.net

I couldn\'t get the download links to work, but I found the direct download directories here.

There is no dblib available for download, but the packages I downloaded all seem to be statically linked.  You still need perl, as I\'m sure you\'re already aware...

libdb.so.3 is in this zip file: http://prdownloads.sf.net/zaurus/zutilsvol1.zip

Don\'t know if it is compatible with libdb.so.2 but you could try sym linking from libdb.so.2 to libdb.so.3

I had found the libdb3 and libdb4 ARM compiled libraries and I thought about suggesting you create a link to one of them, but I figured it wouldn\'t work.

I\'ve compiled the libdb 2.7.7 library (shared library only) for the ARM architecture, but I haven\'t tested it with anything.  Let me know if it works and I\'ll consider placing it on my Zaurus web page, somewhere.  You can get the ipk here.

Chapman: Wow thank you for your help! However, I am sorry to report that the ipkg doesn\'t appear to work. Using the command line gives the error zcat: libdb2_2.7.7_arm.ipk: not in gzip format...

Is this just me being silly or something?

Thanks again
Allan

I have to say that something happened to the file either when you downloaded it from my web site or when you transferred it to your Zaurus.  The file is fine, as far as I can tell.  From my Internet server command line:

Code: [Select]
bash$ file libdb2_2.7.7_arm.ipk

libdb2_2.7.7_arm.ipk: gzip compressed data, deflated, last modified: Tue Apr  6 01:56:41 2004, max compression, os: Unix

bash$ zcat libdb2_2.7.7_arm.ipk | tar tvf -

-rw-r--r-- root/root         4 2004-04-06 01:43:43 ./debian-binary

-rw-r--r-- root/root    134707 2004-04-06 01:56:32 ./data.tar.gz

-rw-r--r-- root/root       388 2004-04-06 01:47:37 ./control.tar.gz

It seems fine on the server and the same file installs on my SL-5600...

Ok - It looks like we are getting there.... :-) I\'ve managed to install the libdb2 (I\'ve no idea why it didn\'t work before) and there error I now get from Apache is:

/home/www/bin/httpd: /usr/lib/libdb.so.2: no version information available (required by /home/www/bin/httpd)

Is there some way I can add that?

Thanks again
Allan

ps. Offroadgeek: I will write an updated How To for Apache should I ever get it working....

Let\'s look at this a different way:

Why is it that you can\'t use the Apache servers from the coup.net site, again?  I installed the apache-1.3.27-php-4.2.3_0.1_arm.ipk on my SL-5600 and it came up the first time I tried it. It\'s statically linked and shouldn\'t need anything special, library-wise.  A couple of the scripts need Perl, though...
