I decided to place an order for some BoxWave ClearTouch protectors for the e805.  I guess I\'ll find out if they really fit.

Keep us posted.  We 6K stalkers need all the intel we can cull while waiting for the 6KW...

WARNING: Do NOT get the Belkin screen protectors now carried by many vendors. I tried the one for the Tosh e805. It fit exactly BUT you\'d do almost as well, visibility-wise, putting a piece of duct tape on your 6000. I\'ve never seen a \"clear\" protector so unreadable. It is similar to the ones by Fellows but much thicker. I\'d like to meet the QC guy that approved the line. \'Nough said.

It\'s a very good fit, except that it\'s 1-2mm too long.  I think it will be easy to fix with scissors when I get home.

I like NuShield.  They don\'t have sticky stuff.  And n bubbles. They just slip in and work.

I sent the SL-6000\'s screen measurements to PDAScreenProtectors.com and they sent me two sample G2 screen protectors to test. So G2 screen protectors for the SL-6000 may be available soon.

Here are the screen measurements I sent:

- Width of opening of screen area (edge to edge): 62.25mm
- Height of opening of screen area (edge to edge): 82.25mm
- Amount of tuck-under* of top edge: 2mm
- Amount of tuck-under* of left edge: 1.5mm
- Amount of tuck-under* of right edge: 1.5mm to 2mm (Top to Bottom)
- Amount of tuck-under* of bottom edge: 2.5mm to 3mm (Left to Right)

The samples I got fit pretty well. Has anyone measured their SL-6000\'s screen?
I\'d like to verify the measurements I got.

Maybe we could add some screen measurements to the Zaurus faq to help Zaurus owners who are trying to find screen protectors.

I sent Nushield 82 x 61 and they sent me a size that seems to work swell.

I like NuShield.

In this instance, I don\'t.  Granted, it\'s not billed as being for the 6K, but it is billed as being for the Tosh e800.  Unlike the G2, the NuShields have a slight narrowing at top and bottom, with a wider area in the center.  The center area fits, but there are tiny, sliver-sized gaps along the lateral edges at the top and bottom--very bad for a non-adhesive SP that will trap dust underneath and sandpaper your screen! :x

The one NuShield sent me is the  NU011M.  And it seems to fit ok as long as it is centered. When pushed clear over to one side, there is a slight slit at the very top.

Now I see that they actually list the sl6k and give NU011M as the appropriate model.
When I click through it lists Zaurus as the only pda using this model.

Doh!  Just what I get for trying to be prepared--I bought my NuShield a couple of weeks ago, before I ordered the 6K.  OTOH, it sounds like even the model-specific shield doesn\'t really fit, either.  Do all NuShields have the tapered top and bottom?  The G2 I have on my 5600 is squre (well...rectangualar), and although it was a pain in the butt to install, there are no gaps...

I used the Boxwave screen/p for the Toshiba Genio 550.  The Genio also has a 4\" screen, but I had to trim 1mm from each side.

It is not perfectly crystal clear.  Stops glare; I can turn off the backlight and read the screen in direct sunlight.

Like all s/p, increases the amount of pressure required to activate the digitizer.

I\'d rate it 4.5 out of 5.

Ive never used screen protector\'s on my previous Palm handhelds, are they worth it ? Do they leave any kind of residue ? I dont really use the handwriting recognition too much, I prefer the keyboard so my screen taps are somewhat minimal, am I missing something ?

comments... thanks

Adhesive ones could leave residue, but I\'ve never experienced it.  The \"tuck-under\" kind (G2, NuShield) couldn\'t possibly leave residue.

I\'d say they\'re mandatory if you use HWR and want more than six months from new-in-box to wastebasket.  If not, it depends on how paranoid you are, but I prefer to have a tough, replaceable layer between the most vulnerable part of my mobile device and the outside world.
