You beat me to it
Nice to see updates being constantly published. From the Register's article I have the feeling they are putting a lot of effort into this device, even on smaller details.
The final specs aren't that different from the initial ones. The display has now a lower resolution than the planned one (2160x1080 vs. 2880×1440), but at least it's a bit bigger (5.99 vs. 5.7 inches). I won't miss the NFC and fingerprint modules, I wouldn't have used them anyway, pity about the lower battery capacity though. The updated CPU is a nice bonus, too. The Register article mentions that "all models support an eSIM", while the specifications list mentions the eSIM only on the LTE model; does this mean that all the Geminis will mount the LTE chipset, and the only difference will be the SIM holder being soldered on or not?
I like the new 5 LEDs, the device will be probably most of the time kept closed by an average user, so they'll be most welcomed. I can imagine myself setting them for incoming calls, SMS, WhatsApp, Skype and maybe for low battery indication, if there's not already a dedicated led for it.
Worth mentioning is the recent news of David Potter joining the Planet team, which will make the Gemini even more look like the spiritual successor of the Psion PDAs.
I have not yet found any photo from the MWC exhibition online, they will probably appear soon.
