Hello, OESF!

I'm glad to see this sight resurrected. Zaurus was a great machine.

Hi Meyer,

glad to see you back here, and Merry Christmas! Yes, this forum has been neglected for quite a long time, I'd like to keep it going at least to preserve all the information about the Zaurus, since nowadays it can't be found anywhere else. BTW do you still have any Zaurus, or any similiar device?

I still have a C1000 which I think still works. I haven't used it much since I broke down and got an Android smartphone. I should keep it working since its retro-computing value continues to increase.

Indeed. While in Japan used Zauruses are still sold at reasonable prices, here in the west they are more expensive. I have recently bought various Z's from Yahoo's Auction, and I have noticed that the prices there range from 700-1000 yen (roughly 5-7 euros, or 6-8 USD) for a 6000N (which are very common and often sold in batches), 2000-3500 yen (15-25 euros / 18-30 USD) for the 7x0 ones, up to 6500-8000 yen (50-60 euros / 60-70 USD) for the 3x00 serie, shipping and proxy service fee excluded. In the EU/US any model can be rarely found for less than 100 euros/120 USD. As the time passes, the prices will inevitably go up, which is anyway good news for anyone wanting to sell his Zaurus
The only problem with the Z is with the old batteries' capacity. One day I'll get in touch with Cameron Sino to ask them if it is possible to order freshly manufactured Zaurus batteries from them.
